Bespoke Burlesque Design
I have worked collaboratively with various burlesque artists to develop, design and construct costumes for their ongoing performances.
Lolo brow
Captain consumerism
Lolo and I collaborated on creating the costume for Captain Consumerism, a character they dreamed up for a House of Burlesque show.

Didi Derriere
Art deco Fantasty
The result of a multi-year collaboration, Didi and I dreamed up this Art Deco fantasy for her performance career. We started with images of Erte and the Ziegfield Follies to create the baseline visual references. Then we dove into extravagant materials to bring this fabric to life
Ruby St James
Big blue dress
The BBB was the first major costume that Ruby had commissioned. She wanted something super classical and we worked together on layering reveals, choosing the right colours for her complexion ( she originally wanted canary yellow!), and computer coordinating the range of fabrics chosen. It was an absolute dream to with in together to bring her dreams to life.
Didi Derriere
Marilyn
This Marilyn creation was a dream of Didi’s to perform and create. It is constructed with a bridesmaid dress she found in a charity shop we upcycled. Using the book, Dressing Marilyn, we designed the rest of the garment including the accessories. We searched for appropriate fabrics to create the accessories and once constructed she did the rhinestoning.

fashion
Fashion was the first act that Didi and I collaborated on. It was initially inspired by a music video reveal (the mesh panel is covered by a satin panel removed in the first seconds of the act) and 90s Mugler. Not pictures are the architectural sleeves also included in the act. This act involves working with two other makers: the corset maker and the milliner to realise our vision.
